Duplicate Document Detector

Compare document names and sizes, and optionally hash selected local files to investigate possible duplicates without downloading Clio content.

What it does today

Current-matter name/size evidence and selected-local-file SHA-256 matching. Existing Clio content is not downloaded or hashed.

How to use

  1. In Clio, open Matterevo and choose Duplicate Document Detector from the Tool Library. Use the search box or the Documents & research family filter to find it.
  2. Choose the records or sources to compare.
  3. Inspect the evidence and differences side by side. Each finding links to its source record.
  4. Decide what to do. This review does not change Clio on its own.

Before you rely on it

Detect likely duplicates by hash, filename, size, and matter location before uploading. The current scope, including what the tool does not do, is listed under What it does today.

Matterevo works within your existing Clio permissions. Paying never grants additional Clio permissions.
